House of glass with entirely transparent environment

House of glass with entirely transparent environment

The work of the Architectural Bureau of Santambrogio l in Milan and the exhibition centers in London and New York – the eccentric and original design that breaks schemes with the past and shows a no so distant future The Glass House is an ambitious concept: beautiful house made entirely by glass, in which the furnish is transparent.
Glass – one of the materials most used in architecture, merges with the environment, giving it the charm that doesn’t take an age. In the history of architecture there are many famous examples of glass houses from Farnsworth House (1945) by Mies van der Rohe’s to Glass House (1949) by Philip Johnson. In a glass house there is absolute transparency, which annihilates every space or border.  The differences between the inside and the outside of the house are missing and it seems that there are no domestic walls..
Here, we are inside and outside of theidea of “space”, totally merged with nature, experimenting the limits of reality.
The goal is to build, using only and exclusively glass, which is used as a structural element of considerable thickness, of 30 mm, allows to delete every unnecessary design element. Thanks to the diligence and to the aesthetic study every detail is characterized by enthusiastic purity, brilliance and transparency.
This versatility makes the Glass House suitable for each context of environment : , with appropriate design adaptations, we could find it in the woods between snow-covered trees on the coast or even on the beach. The horizon of each point of the house would have been 360 ° in each direction, and glazed, satin finish would characterize the most intimate space to preserve privacy .
Each piece of furniture is designed by glass, from the stairs to bed, to tables and sofas, bookshelves and closets, kitchen and cooking surfaces, sinks and plumbing equipment.
The furniture line is part of a collection of design called Simplicity, elegance and sophistication of the project of the architect Carlo Santambrogio in collaboration with the architect and designer Enno Arosa. All the elements are implemented in a super-bright glass Saynt Gobain, tempered and layered.
