“IRRITATING” DISEASE

“IRRITATING” DISEASE
Atopic dermatitis (or atopic eczema) is a chronic non-communicable pathology, in which the skin of the face and/or body is constantly dry, itchy and irritated.
There are two stages: the active phase (also known as “rash”) and inactive phase. It is important to protect the skin during the inactive phase, to extend the length of time between the active phases. It has an obvious genetic origin, but environmental factors, including nutrition in the early stages of life, play a crucial role in any way. As the disease occurs in persons with increased reactivity to multiple and different stimulus sometimes, it can cause , a food allergy to foods such as strawberries, tomatoes, shellfish and seafood; many mineral salts products make really serious problems for those who suffer from atopic dermatitis. The consumption of foods with these characteristics increases sweating and skin irritation.
During daily treatment of atopic dermatitis it can be useful to be in the open air, to keep basic products for skin treatment in a refrigerator, to use make-up based on products suitable for sensitive skin, to make relaxing exercises such as yoga, which reduces the presence of stress hormones, to keep a diary , in which you can monitor your symptoms in order to understand what affects the skin. During the active phase, when there is an itch, do not rub the skin, and, after a shower, use a lotion or a proper cream. Constant itching may actually cause scratches that damage the skin barrier and can favorthe formation of environment suitable for bacteria. It, in turn, provokes irritation and, therefore, again itching and inflammation. Let’s feel our body.
